7/6 Letter about the charges at the fishing shelter of Vlychada
7/6. A letter of notice was sent to the Secretary of the Decentralized Administration of the Aegean concerning the legality of the charges in the fishing shelter of Vlychada from the Municipal Port Fund of Thira. This was followed by telephone communication with various officials of the Secretariat. We are awaiting an answer.
13/6 The Gazette of Marina Alimos was published.
13/6 Government Gazette No. 388 was published approving the location and environmental conditions of Marina Alimos.
13/6 Attendance at the open general assembly of SETE
13/6. Παραβρεθήκαμε στην ανοικτή γενική συνέλευση του ΣΕΤΕ όπου χαιρετισμό απηύθυναν ο Πρωθυπουργός κος Μητσοτάκης και η Υπουργός Τουρισμού κα Κεφαλογιάννη. Παραβρέθηκε επίσης ο υπουργός Οικονομίας και Οικονομικών κος Χατζηδάκης.
14/6. The Government underwent a reorganization of roles.
In the sectors that concern our interests, Mr. Christos Dimas took over the position of Mr.Theoharis (VAT matters) in the Ministry of Economy and Finance, in the Ministry of the Interior Mr. Vassilis Spanakis took over as Deputy Minister responsible for local self-government issues, in the Ministry of Development Mr. Takis Theodorikakos took over as minister. As you understand, a new round of visits to the ministries will begin to inform and promote the issues of our sector. Relevant letters have already been sent.
19/6 Our comments regarding the electronic charter agreement
19/6. We have sent our comments to the Ministry of Shipping regarding the pending joint ministerial decision on the electronic charter agreement procedure.
4/7 Consultation on the implementation of the global maritime risk and safety system (GMDSS)
4/7. On the occasion of the consultation with the Ministry of Shipping on the implementation of the global maritime hazard and safety system (GMDSS) we raised all our issues related to radio communications such as the abolition of the radio service contract, the shore maintenance contract, the digitization of the radio license, the non-issuance new license in case of a change of clearing company etc.
11/7. Subject was presented to the port authority of Mykonos
11/7. We took part in a teleconference organized by the Greek Marinas Association in which the Kapodistrian & Piraeus Universities participated, who jointly undertook the research on the location of tourist ports in Greece. A relevant questionnaire was presented and sent to our members. We note the importance and the need for as many professionals as possible to complete this questionnaire.
7/23 Meeting with the chief of staff of the Chief of the Coast Guard
23/7 We met with the head of staff for the Chief of the Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Mr. Kontorouhas Christos. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Prosecution of Drugs and Smuggling, the Directorate of the Port Police, DINETHAT and the Ship Control Branch.
The following topics were discussed:
- Pharmacy Equipment - amendment of the relevant P.D. The shipping industry objects. We agreed to come back with the official legislative framework of other European countries.
- Illegal charters. We pointed out that controls on illegal charters have weakened and we discussed the procedures for the related complaints. We filed information on 5 boats that we believe are being chartered illegally. We received this information from our members after a relevant update we made on our Facebook page.
- We proposed the creation of a sticker with a QR code to be placed on the sterns of commercial vessels so that they can be easily distinguished by the port authorities.
- Finally, the issue of the speed of entry of coastal ships into ports and the consequences of their wake on the safety of docked vessels was discussed. The Directorate of the Port Police undertook the task of contacting the local port authorities (several ports where the problem occurs repeatedly were mentioned) to give relevant instructions.
30/7 Illegal charter
30/7. Information was sent to the Corfu Port Authority and the Prosecution regarding two cases of vessels suspected of illegal chartering.
